Karen Roberts
Hey there, you found me.
Curious about my story?
I graduated from OCAD University in 2014 and began my career in graphic design before moving into app, web, and UI design, which naturally led me into product design. Over the past several years, I’ve focused on designing more complex systems and improving clarity in data-heavy, high-pressure environments like emergency notification and 911 software.
Currently, Im learning about and implementing AI-driven workflows and exploring how predictive, insight-driven experiences can improve decision-making and reduce operational friction.
Outside of product work, I’ve been freelancing as an illustrator for over 14 years, which continues to shape how I think about form, color, detail, and visual storytelling. I’m also deeply interested in human behavior and the “why” behind how people think and make decisions, influenced by books like The Laws of Human Nature, The Power of Habit, and The Design of Everyday Things.

What I focus on
Exploring AI-driven workflows and predictive experiences that improve decision-making and reduce friction.
Simplifying complex workflows into experiences users benefit from.
Structuring information so it’s easier to understand and use.
Improving usability through testing, refinement, and empathy for user needs.
